Some of the designs from my new book Baskerville – dawn to dusk are released as single downloads on Ravelry today! So for those of you who only crochet, you can now get Kat Goldin‘s Yealm shawl by itself to knit up your Baskerville. 😉
Worn on the cover of the book, this is the only crochet item in the collection and the thick, juicy stitches really give fluid, furry Baskerville a completely new feel. It was quite a blustery day out in Dungeness where we shot the photos for the book and putting this around my neck felt like a warm hug.
We used mid-blue Eventide for the sample, which will now be available in a more consistent acid-dyed blue that won’t crock. The Indigo-dyed version has been put on hold, though it might be back for special editions next year.
I will have a few of the last Indigo skeins at a book signing September 9th at London LYS Nest in Crouch End and will also be there on the 10th with a trunk show for the Great London Yarn Crawl the next day, so you can get your copy then as well. The pre-orders are still available on the shop and hard copies of the book will start shipping late next week.
You can try on the sample at these events. As you’ll see the Ripple stitch fabric is thick, heavy and feels like a cape when pinned around the shoulders. You can see how thick those gorgeous crochet stitches are! Perfect for a winter layer.
See more about the stunning design on Kat’s blog and keep a look out there for a tutorial on the Ripple Stitch used in the shawl this coming Tuesday.
