Iara Variations and new Sketchbook

LInda Lencovic Kettle Yarn Co.

I introduced the Iara Shawl, A new spectacular shawl by @eastlondonknit a few weeks ago and thought I’d share my sample in new Northiam, non-superwash Bluefaced Leicester fingering with you!

I’ve knit mine in a combination of, from top, Rosehip, Amber, Thistle, Swift and Caspian. Every time I look at the colours together it just makes me smile.

I wanted big pops of colour for winter. Isn’t it fun?

As usual, I went completely crazy trying out combos before knitting. I was going for a slightly 70s colour vibe and it took me a while to find the right one for me.

Here are a few of my favourites:

Canvas, Blackthorn, Caspian                                     Canvas, Blackthorn, Rosehip

Thistle, Shale, Barley, Amber, Rosehip                                Rosehip, Thistle, Caspian

Amber, Shale, Swift                                             Caspian, Shale, Rosehip

You can find all hues in shop, along with the same colours in thicker DK.

NEW SKETCHBOOK

I’m introducing a new magazine-like feature for the Kettle Krew next week. Sketchbook is a place where I’ll be sharing things that inspire me, catch my eye, and give you glimpses into my other makes and interests, from new patterns in knitting and sewing to random design and art.

Make sure you are signed up to the list before next Thursday morning to see the first edition. I hope you enjoy them. 😉
