All my yarn is dyed to try and prevent striping or pooling as much as possible. This creates a random/softer variegated effect that looks amazing in plain stockinette but also works fabulously with more complicated and textural stitch motifs.
Dye lots are not available as dyes are applied by hand in small quantities – therefore no two hanks are exactly the same. As such, it is always advisable to alternate skeins to create even colour in larger projects.
Although I take great care in photographing my yarns, all colours on the internet WILL ALWAYS vary from monitor to monitor due to the nature of different hardware settings.
If you have any doubts about the colours you are seeing, please email me and I will try and describe the actual, real-life hue!

I wear a lot of hats as the owner and sole employee of Kettle Yarn Co. and get a large number of emails per week. If you have questions about your order, please check your inbox for a receipt to see if you’ve back-ordered an item and when it will be in stock for shipping. The review function is automated. If you’ve received a review request before your parcel arrives and can take time to review the item(s) once they’ve arrived it would be hugely appreciated!

Your order will be shipped within 1-7 business days after payment clears unless otherwise notified. My shipping days are generally Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you order something and need it right away please email me directly after you purchase.
Domestic parcels are shipped 1st class mail. International orders can take 7 -14 working days to arrive. However, it can sometimes take 4-6 weeks for parcels to reach destinations outside the UK.

I am unable to replace items that are lost in the post without arranging additional insurance. If you would like to insure your parcel for the full amount at an additional cost, please email me when you make your purchase and I will invoice you accordingly. If you’ve not done this, parcels will be shipped on a regular, untraceable service.
Note: On the regular Royal Mail Airmail service I am unable to determine where a parcel has on this service gone and can only get us a £20 refund through a lengthy process at Royal Mail if the item does not show up in 4 weeks. Please contact me after 4 weeks if the parcel has still not arrived and we’ll sort it out.

Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason PLEASE contact me! I take great pride in providing an exceptional product and would love to hear of any issues you might have with yarn quality. Naturally, all yarns that are to be sent back to me must be in saleable condition – not unwound, have been exposed to animals or smelling like perfumes, smoke, etc. – unless damaged.
PLEASE NOTE: I am unable to offer refunds due to colours not matching what you saw on your monitor, so please contact me by email before purchasing if you need help with a specific hue! Please read Yarn Colour before ordering.
As I pride myself on keeping my products as pure from allergens as possible, all items being exchanged must be free of any smells – perfumes, smoke, etc. – and not have been exposed to animals.
Returns are not accepted without prior approval and are subject to a 10% restocking fee. Shipping for any agreed exchanges due to colour will be paid by the buyer and if there are any residual scents on the yarn the buyer will have to pay for return shipping back to them as well.

Great care is taken to show the yarns in natural light, but please be aware that all computer monitors vary and may show colours differently on your screen. If you have any doubt about the colour, please contact me! Read more on colour.

As I personally have severe fragrance allergies, all products used on my yarns are hypo-allergenic and completely fragrance free. All yarns are produced in a critter and smoke free home, so those with allergies to cats/dogs/etc. need not worry. All you will smell on your new yarn-babies is sheepy goodness!
I do not currently use natural dyes for colouring the yarns as the natural dye process actually uses many toxic chemicals to set the dye. Instead, I use acid dyes, the ‘acid’ being citric acid, a mild acid which occurs naturally in citrus fruits. These dyes are so safe I can use them in my home kitchen.
Some of you have asked if I offer yarn winding on your skeins. Unfortunately, being a one-woman show, I just don’t have enough time in the day to do this for orders. Thanks for understanding!
