Heatwave ready with my Talavera…

My Talavera is finished and I had a chance to wear it for the first time at Woolfest this last weekend!

As mentioned previously, I decided to finally use the glimmering Gold Rush colourway for this one and am not regretting it. It shimmers in the light like it’s namesake and makes the top something truly special.

I wore it on Saturday with a simple green dress and someone said it made the outfit look almost like evening-wear, polishing the dress up smartly.

The one thing that really surprised me was how warm the baby Camel/silk lace was…it kept me toasty in the livestock pens and was almost too hot over the dress when the sun came out. I’ll definitely be wearing this with something lighter underneath in the heatwave that has been forecasted for the south coast this week!

I’ve got several other hues of the Westminster in shop at the moment for this beautiful design, and my size 1 took a mere 71 grams = 378.5m of the 533m skein, so am thinking most sizes will be possible from just the one!

Also, for those of you who are a little leery of lace – like me – this pattern is SUPER simple and very satisfying to knit. Even I found it a breeze to remember the repeats! Defo a recommend as a quick, satisfying knit. 😉
