Its time for Northiam DK – my new small-batch, non-superwash British Bluefaced Leicester in thicker DK weight!

Just in time for all your autumn projects, this delicious non-superwash yarn is a perfect yarn for warm, soft garments and accessories to keep you cosy throughout the chill months and beyond.
Available in the same 11 hues as the fingering weight, the DK comes in 50g skeins that work beautifully together for colourwork.
Perfect for colourwork as it has not been treated in any way, this yarn is grown, shorn, scoured spun and dyed at a British mill, keeping its carbon footprint low and clean whilst supporting small British farms.
Northiam is low pilling with a dry, slightly crisp handle. Its long-staple fibres are excellent for durable items and delicate lace, as well as colourwork. The DK has an added ply to the fingering, and the three plies create an even more balance yarn with softly defined stitch definition for cables, lace and other textures while creating beautifully balanced stockinette.

Upcoming jumper design in Blackthorn and Canvas
The stitches are also visible in the header shot in the close up of my newly finished Tecumseh by Caitlin Hunter. The stitches are remarkably smooth and well balanced – even in my shonky colourwork! ;-P
I’ve used natural Canvas, Barley and Swift grey in this pullover and the a larger needle on this one compared to the one above it gives it jumper an airy, light loft I wasn’t expecting with colourwork.
