Handcrafted in my Victorian home in England, my products actively work to support British Farmers and safeguard animals and the environment, endeavouring to make the wool industry sustainable for future generations by meeting the needs of the present. In keeping with my ethical goals and standards, whenever possible all fibres and labour is sourced with British suppliers who abide by The Animal Welfare Act 2006 and its detailed subsidiary guidelines.
Kettle Yarn Co. is a love-child born of a passion for luscious yarns in rich colours, and the practical desire for long lasting garments that stand the test of time.
Growing up in the boreal forests of northern Canada, I was always the kid marvelling at sunsets or elbow deep in the finger paints, glorying way the colours would mix. As an adult, I made the leap from Vancouver to London for an MA in Painting at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
This company was founded in 2013 when my skills in colour mixing and paint glazing converged with a growing obsession for knitting. I dye my yarns in my Victorian kitchen, applying my colour theory knowledge to my love of subtly dyed semi-solid yarns.
I’ve tested all of the yarns I sell, and only the most luxurious, low-pilling and durable fibres are selected for Kettle Yarn Co. yarn to ensure projects that will wear beautifully and last a lifetime.
My luxurious yarns are carefully sourced to ensure animal welfare and only ethically farmed fibres are used to reduce negative impacts on the environment.
My goal is that my yarns will always be a pleasure to knit, wear and will look amazing for years to come, for others – like me – who believe fashion shouldn’t be disposable.
